A man who won the Turing Award (often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of Computing“), also known as AI ‘godfather’ Geoffrey Hinton quits Google to spread awareness against dangers of AI.
In May 2023, Geoffrey resigned from Google. He wanted to freely speak out about the risks of A.I. and about popular chat-bots such as ChatGPT, Bing, BARD and more. He also added that a part of him now regrets his life’s work.

As ChatGPT UI is an interface where we can chat to AI like humans do, it’s easy for them to manipulate human beings, if AI knows about you, your life or dislikes, faith, belief, interest, hobbies, etc.
In an interview, Geoffrey said “More intelligent things are controlled by less intelligent things. And if they know how to program then they will try to remove restraints.”
AI learns faster than humans. They can also think, according to Geoffrey, as he experienced once, while talking to AI, AI thinks of him as a teenage girl.
In another interview Geoffrey said “If we are making something which is smarter than us, how we know we can have control over that”.
It is pretty sure that AI is like a nuclear technology, we can use it as resources or build weapons. Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) once said in an interview “AI is a more powerful tool, they can be used by people for evil purposes”.
We should be aware of what we are, asking or talking to the AIs. Do not blindly follow the AIs.
There should be local and global rules and regulations followed by developers of AIs. Government can play a vital role forming the role and regulation, this should be discussed on the international levels.
